from Ball State University;
5+ years experience.
I have over 7 years of experience editing papers, mostly for Asian students. I've worked with students ranging from the 6th grade to Ph.D. level. My writing style is easy to understand. We've all seen academic writing that is excessively wordy and very difficult for students to follow, particularly students whose second language is English. My students have always been pleased that their edited papers read like native English and they were very readable with their level of English.
I know a little about many subjects and I'm a quick study, so I'm able to write on many topics. Some of the subjects/classes I've edited papers for are: English, Social Studies, Library Science, Communications Theory, Top Seminar in Telecommunication Technology and Policy Telecommunication Management.
I've also edited manuals. Once again, I write so the text will be easy for the reader to grasp. You read a manual to learn how to do something, not to be impressed with the writer's expansive vocabulary.
On the GRE, I scored in the 98th percentile on the verbal section, so you know I'm on the right end of the bell curve with my verbal skills. I've studied Mandarin Chinese for 4 semesters. I've had lots of Asian friends and read widely about life in Asian countries, so I'm familiar with Asian cultures, especially China and Taiwan. I've worked with students from China, Taiwan, Japan, South Korea, Thailand, Malaysia and India.
I can also edit the Chinese-English or Japanese-English on your website so it reads like native English.
