Prefer contract work in the Atlanta metro area or work that can be done primarily from my home office in that city. Will relocate for a pemanent job.
I have worked as a technical writing and instructional design consultant for the last 21 years. Most of the work was performed in the Atlanta metro area, although I started my career in the Pacific Northwest. During the last two decades I have created many types of documentation, working in many industries and work environments, and performed a variety of activities, some of which do not fall under the umbrella of common technical writing tasks. I've done translation work (Japanese to English); written test procedures and test cases; produced white papers, presentations, and programming manuals; worked with single-source object-based documentation tools such as AuthorIT, designed wiki-based documentation systems, and trained/mentored other technical writers as well as taught courses. The cumulative effect of such experiences has been to create a well-rounded generalist capable of handling almost any sort of documentation, documentation control, or graphics related situation that comes up with little assistance required.
