PROJECT: Title: Inventory management of a manufacturing company

Assumptions: The manufacturing company named Chemco Industries Limited has a factory and warehouse at Bhiwandi and sales-depots at Thane and Panvel. Head Office is at Mumbai. Financial year starts from 1st April of a year and ends on 31st March of the next year. There are 12 financial periods in a financial year starting from the 1st of each month. Budgeted Rates for Raw Materials have been set which can be changed at the beginning of the financial year. FG stock is valued at Sales Rate and is revalued on change of sales rate.

Project Description: In this project, a Windows form has been designed for head office, in which addition of new finished goods and raw material items can be done and existing items can be modified. Finished goods sales rates can be changed at the beginning of a financial period and raw material budgeted rates can be changed at the time of beginning of a financial year. Also new customers accounts can be created. Production requirements for each finished goods item can also be entered and changed as per requirements. The head office gives access to locations for entering transactions of sales of finished goods and only one financial period can be kept open at a time. Various crystal reports have been created for showing RM purchases, RM stock, production status, FG stock (including and excluding in-transit stock) and sales for any financial period(s).

Web forms have been created in ASP.NET for Production Department, Purchase Department and Warehouse. Login Ids have been provided for accessing these web forms. In production web form, the production department can enter transactions for issuing RM indents to purchase department and also enter production start and end dates and can view production status. In purchase web form, the purchase department can enter transactions for purchase and issue of raw materials. Also current stock position and stock statement for each raw material can be viewed. In warehouse web form, warehouse officials can enter transactions for issue and receipt of finished goods. Also stock position and stock statement for each FG item as on any date can be viewed.

Two ASP.NET web forms have been created, one each for Thane and Panvel location. In each web form, the location incharge can enter transactions of issue and receipt of finished goods between locations, finished goods sales and receipts from customers. Also stock position and stock statement for each FG item for any period, and customer outstanding as on any date can be viewed. Login Ids have been provided for accessing these web forms.
